Hi, I’m Jon
I got back into swimming after a running injury two years ago and haven’t looked back. I used the pool for Rehab after my injury and remembered how much I enjoyed being in the water after many years of being on dry land!.
Following a period of coaching with the very talented Pete Frost to get something like swim fit again, I ventured into Open water on my local stretch of the Thames in Marlow and was hooked immediately.
I entered the Henley Classic as my first event and subsequently found Selkie during training for it.
I entered few more events that first Summer and really enjoyed being involved in the OpenWater swim community.
This coming year I have set my sights on longer swims, I am swimming the Thames Marathon and The Dart 10k which will represent big challenges for me and am looking forward to training for and competing in both.
Alongside Swimming I train at CrossFit Wycombe which adds a good layer of strength training for me and really enjoy being out on my SUP.
For me, I enjoy the challenges that Openwater provides and the platform to test yourself in a constantly changing environment.
